Landscaping and Garden Design
Making of a garden should be considered as a serious art form as lavished on paintings and sculptures. It is a four dimensional, aesthetic experience for, in addition to the usual three, it combines the dimension of time as well. A garden should be functional as well as a place where people can move or stand still, where children can play, run, climb trees or swing. Most of all it should be a place which exudes peace and rest.
It has been said that no garden can be planned entirely on paper as there too many unforeseen elements involved. To work on a garden is to think about its esthetic problems continuously, even when it seems complete. A gardener is often left with the area available where the garden is attached to a building, here his freedom is restricted. But often the worst site can be most rewarding with a couple of trees and some ground cover. The moral is never despair no matter how seemingly hopeless the site appears to be.
It is a great advantage if you can put your ideas down on a paper in the form of a plan. You can make it clear to yourself and others what you want and what you do not want. In a garden a great deal of space is devoted to maintenance because these days of “So much to do and So little time to do it” people are naturally concerned with carrying out maintenance of their garden as efficiently as possible , labor being another issue. A landscaper could help you with many issues as to maintenance and trouble free gardens, to help you with what you are not familiar about.
